Suspended cases, verdicts and decisions due to the coronavirus epidemic

The statistics include all cases interrupted at some stage due to corona, which are still pending. In other words, it is not just because of the corona that cases currently in suspension are involved. Some of the previously suspended cases have now been taken into due process.

In particular, the processing of cases was suspended during 2020. At the same time, new cases were brought before the courts, so the number of pending cases increased significantly. The number of cases suspended at the end of 2021 is considerably lower than in 2020, but despite additional resourcing, the situation remains congested. In particular, the number of criminal cases pending in district courts is considerably higher than usual. At the end of 2021, 27,256 (20,381 in 2019) criminal cases were pending in district courts.
