Statistics
The National Court Administration cannot produce statistics on request because this has been assigned to the Legal Register Centre in accordance with sections 14.1 and 15.3 of the Act on the national data reserve of the judicial administration.
You can enquire court statistics from the Legal Register Centre's information service.
You can also enquire the statistics of an individual court from that court.
Annual statistics published by the National Courts Administration can be found on the website of the judiciary and in the financial statements of the accounting unit of the judiciary (in Finnish).
The number of pending cases suspended due to the coronavirus epidemic can be found on the website of the National Courts Administration.
Document requests
The National Courts Administration has no jurisdiction to disclose the data of an individual court. Requests for information concerning these matters shall be addressed to the court that decided the matter.
The Legal Register Center may disclose basic public information and other diary information in the proceedings at national level or more than one court.
Applications for a research permit concerning the data material of an individual court shall be addressed to the court that decided the case. If data are retrieved for research purposes from the data set of several courts at once, the application for a research permit shall be addressed to the Legal Register Center.

Communications at the National Courts Administration
The Head of Communications of the National Courts Administration is responsible for the external and internal communications of the National Courts Administration, for the coordination and development of communications, and for the support and development of communications of the courts.
In addition, the Administration Department, in cooperation with the Head of Communications, is responsible for external and internal communications of the Agency and its management, the tasks assigned to it in support of communications of the courts and is responsible for the Agency's contacts with the public.
The purpose of communications laid down in the Courts Act is to support courts in their communications. Any communication by the National Courts Administration shall take into account the independence of the courts.
The Head of Communications of the National Courts Administration coordinates the activities of the network of media judges.
